Visitor Information

Molloy Island is a private residential development and access is via a privately owned barge, restricted to residents and invited guests. Due to shire restrictions there is no holiday accommodation available on the island. The closest accommodation is the Molloy Hideaway Holiday Park, located on the mainland near the barge.

  • Office hours are 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Saturday. The office is closed for lunch from 1pm to 2pm.
    The caretakers/managers are Karen Carroll and Trevor Jolliffe.

  • The barge (ferry) is operated by the managers every hour on the hour between 8am and 5pm, 7 days a week. Home owners (trained Fob Key holders) operate the barge on the half hour and after 5pm.
    Do not rely on homeowners to transport you across the river on the half hour and outside of business hours, as no one may be using the ferry at these times.

  • All visitors are required to pay $5.- per car per return trip, payable in cash on leaving the mainland side.
    Car and trailer is $10.- return, car and boat/caravan is $20.- return if it takes up the whole of the barge.

  • Cats are forbidden on the island

  • Only homeowners are allowed to bring dogs onto the island. Visitors with dogs will be refused entry.

  • The speed limit on the island is 35km/h.

  • Please respect our unique natural bush environment and its inhabitants. Please do not feed or chase native animals and don't pick flowers or remove plants from the bush.
